Key West, FL

We made it to Key West and it was everything we wanted it to be. As I write this, we are sitting on the balcony outside our suite at the Ocean Key hotel at Zero Duval Street in Key West at half past ten p.m. and listening to live bar music from down the street.

Today we walked up and down Duval Street from the hotel to the southernmost point, which is just 90 miles from Cuba, and we logged more than three miles on the Fitbit. Stops along the way included a drink at the historic Sloppy Joes and Margaritaville.

Later, we watched the sunset and had dinner on Sunset Pier while listening to live music and watching the boats cruise. Afterward we strolled through Mallory Square and enjoyed people watching. As evidenced by the pictures, Kenny and I tried performing as Cuban entertainers, but were fired when we couldn’t speak the language, LOL.

Tomorrow morning we head back to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo to see the sites there.

Until we meet again, hugs and best wishes for happiness.

  1. Haha, love the teal weenie cover up…I must get one for my hubby!
Only you would take a photo of that…..I had to enlarge it to get a good look…:)
The hotel looks really cute. That was a good idea, since they don’t allow motorhomes in the town itself. Are you riding your bikes around the town? Glad you are enjoying Key West. Enjoy Pennekamp, we sure did! Take care.
