Today we took a two-hour boat tour on the Suwannee Canal in the Okefenokee. The tour guide gave us the history of the canal and the swamp, as well as some alligator info, and he pointed out wildlife as we rode along.
The temperature was in the high 70s and partly cloudy and so there were alligators of all sizes taking in the sunshine along both banks along the route.
We saw and learned about the American Bittern, a Great Blue Heron, and a Barred Owl. There were also a lot of Yellow Bellied Sliders (turtles).
We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the trip!

Ken and I travel full-time in our motor coach throughout the United States. We have traveled along the Gulf of Mexico down to Key West and from Key West north along the East Coast all the way to Bar Harbor, Maine. We spent seven months in Southwest Texas right on the Rio Grande and from there we traveled to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon before heading back to our home state of Missouri. After a brief visit with family and friends we headed back to Florida and then we volunteered at the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Southeast Georgia. The story didn’t end there because as of this writing we have visited all except three states. We went to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and Death Valley National Park. We have continued our volunteer service by adding another winter at Okefenokee, a short stint at Bon Secour, and a winter at A.R.M. Loxahatchee NWR. Summer 2020 finds us in the Missouri Ozarks and we are still loving life. We have much more in store, so please stay tuned as we continue to travel across this beautiful country of ours!
