While I didn’t knock out everything on the to-do list today, I made some progress.
Before you get excited, no, the outside windows didn’t get cleaned. Laundry was the priority today since we didn’t get home from Ormond Beach until dinner time yesterday.
We also met the other resident RV volunteer couple that we will be working with. Although they don’t begin their assignment until the first of the year, as we did last spring, today they stopped in for a visit and tour of the Refuge.
I finally got out around 3:30 for a walk along the Marsh Trail and managed to get some fun wildlife pictures… an alligator near the viewing platform, a Great Blue Heron, a Little Blue Heron, a Pied-billed Grebe, an Anhinga, and a Palm Warbler, just to name a few.
Lastly, I waited until Thanksgiving was over before putting up the Christmas decorations, and today was a good time for it, especially since I am procrastinating on washing the windows. We put a new bow on the lighted wreath, put up a new door greeting, the Christmas tree is decked with sand-sculpted and sea glass ornaments, the outdoor lights are on, packages are already around the little tree and the mantle is decorated with the tiny ceramic lighted tree. All of this makes the RV feel very festive, even if most of our family is 950 miles away. Thank goodness for online shopping, the US mail and FaceTime because that’s how we celebrate Christmas!
We might be a little early on our holiday spirit, but we wish you a great season of love and warmth.
